Get motivation with myMotivator!

July 7th, 2009

As promised this is a post about our brand new iPhone app: myMotivator. Check it out now! But what does myMotivator has to do with games? Well, not much. But here’s the story. :-)

When we started our adventures with iPhone, we thought that it would be wise to make a test app to see how everything related with iPhone works. Programmer wanted to get familiar with iPhone SDK and tools, I wanted to check out how Apple iTunes store works, how app submissions work, how to do marketing and so on. At that time I’ve remembered a cool website (now defunct) called You Are Mighty, where you could submit your name in a site url, and it would show an inspiring clip. We decided to make something similar for iPhone.

We got it working pretty quick, but since it required an awesome musical track to go along, the project was set aside, while I’ve searched for the right guy to make it. Luckily, I’ve found one, but it took a lot of time to get the music right. But in the end it was worth it. The final synchronization of text, animations and music makes myMotivator really moving! If you don’t believe and have an iPhone, then check it out on app store and see for yourself. It’s only 0.99$! As a bonus it also has a lot of inspiring, motivating and wisdom sharing quotes, and we’ve got an update coming to add even more. So if you want to get motivation or inspiration boost sometimes, then it’s a nice thing to have.

Back from the dead

July 7th, 2009

So it’s been awhile… 2 years actually, since my last post. I’m that kind of personality who quickly forgets his goals and moves to more interesting things at that time. And it happened with this blog too. ;-) A lot of things have changed since then. I’ve left my work at Ivolgamus to start my own adventure with JoystickNinjas in game development. A lot of things are going on right now. Not long ago we released our first iPhone app, read more on it in later posts. Currently we’re trying to finish our first game. If all things will go right, we’ll have the master this week. If not, then it will be delayed for two more weeks, as our programmer will leave for a short vacation. Anyway, we’re trying hard. :-) Also we have another app in the queue. It’s not a game, but will be non the less fun to screw around with. Stay tuned for more info.

Hopefully it’s not the last post for more two years of disappearance. :-)
